My 16 year old son no longer wants to go to dad and stepmoms house. His dad and I have 50u002F50 custody. The relationship between my son and his dad had been alright up into a couple years ago. Step mom got pregnant and had twin girls. And then a year later had a baby boy. Now, I don’t care if she has 100 children but when it affects my son is when I have to speak up. Dad and stepmom have made my son their designated babysitter when he stays at their house. They both work until late and my son has to watch all three children until they come home every day (while he’s with them). If my son asks to go out with friends or be given a break he’s told no and that he has to do what dad and wife says. I’ve tried to explain to my ex that my son didn’t chooses to be a teen parent and parentifying any child is wrong. He says to mind my business and that while under his roof my son will follow his rules. We have a court date scheduled now. Thankfully the state I lives in takes a child’s voice seriously and factors it in custody. Also, my son has a therapist who is going to testify how much this has affected my son’s mental health. Anything thing else I can do to make my case stronger?
